*Installing Adobe® Extensions. Standalone Windows® Installer

// Extensions

An extension is a piece of software that can be added to an Adobe® application to enhance its capabilities.

// About the *.msi Installer

Microsoft Windows Installer (*.msi) is a component of the Windows® operating system. Windows Installer provides a standard foundation for installing and uninstalling software.

// Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5

The *.msi installer I use requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. It should be already included in your system. In case the installer notifies you that the .NET Framework is missing, you can download it for free: A) a Web Installer is available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42643 B) and a Standalone Installer is available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 . Choose your option.

// Before you start

Please make sure that you have removed all previous versions of the extension (Adobe® Illustrator® CC2015, CC2015.2). Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features > find plugin > unistall

// Installation

Make sure that the Adobe® Illustrator® application is not running. Double click on the downloaded *.msi file and follow the onscreen instructions:

Windows Installer Welcom Screen

Hit Next Button and confirm the Installation Folder:

Windows Installer Select Destination Folder Screen

Hit Next Button:

Windows Installer Confirm Installation

Hit Next Button to Start Installation. Here you can choose the destination (host) applications:

Windows Installer Select Host Application

Your Plug-In has been installed. You can now launch the Adobe® Illustrator® > go to Window > Extension. Your tool is there!
